A veteran venture capitalist is aiming to dismantle the “one-party system” in Massachusetts by adopting the national veteran-disrespecting, fiscally disastrous, three-branch-controlling platform of the GOP.

As I’ve written in the past, I think it’s entirely valid to criticize Massachusetts leadership. It’s far from perfect, and has a long way to go. However, you need to complement your criticisms with working solutions.

Massachusetts currently finds itself in the crosshairs of the Trump administration, and as a deeply blue state whose Republicans have historically been rejected by the national GOP constituency, gubernatorial candidates need to differentiate themselves from the Executive branch, not present themselves as part of the platform that time and time again has proven to be radioactive for Massachusetts voters.

I sincerely hope his effort fails dramatically. A Republican-led Massachusetts would swiftly bend the knee to the federal government, and its limited state-scoped autonomy is what is keeping it one of the best places to live in America at the moment.
