Beyond the obvious fact that choosing violence over peaceful resolution is always a tragedy, I can’t help but feel like this bodes poorly for all of America. As fond as the country is of overlooking gun violence, this is a particularly bad time to give POTUS more excuses to “crack down” on crime around the country. Or threaten Second Amendment rights for a select few.
I didn’t like Charlie Kirk, and didn’t for a long time, but this is bad from the immediate tragedy of it to the national implications. I see this as a ripe excuse for further erosion of rights.
