Hello, all!
We’ve recently connected with a number of policy drivers here in Massachusetts, and now we want to put that momentum to good use. For September, our goal is to align on a single civic focus area; something, anything that matters to this community.
You don’t need to take on planning or organizing. Your role is simple: drop a comment with the area of civic focus you’d like us to spotlight this month. From there, we’ll pull together tools, resources, and opportunities for anyone who wants to engage, at whatever level of activity feels right. The focus area with the most support will set the theme for September.
Let’s make this month count! What should we tackle together?
EDIT:
Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Environmentalism and Climate Change
- Food Access and Benefits
- Codifying Civil Liberties (LGBTQ, women’s, etc.)
- Civil Justice and Police Accountability
- Public Transport
- Affordable Housing
- Unionization

There is actually a major movement happening right now related to items one and two–I’m working on a project that covers both, and am in contact with some local grassroots leaders and media folks who are pushing for transparency and stipend reform. I’ll edit this comment as I learn more and keep you in the loop.

Sweet! Yeah that would be awesome to learn more about this and what we can do to prevent power from consolidating in a small percentage of the population.

I can’t attend anything in person this month. Please put something together for codifying LGBTQ+ rights if you can.
